Recent exhibitions of Michelle Weinberg's work include WORD, curated by Renee Riccardo and Paul Laster at the Bronx River Art Center in NY, NADA Fair in Miami Beach, Marina Kessler Gallery at AAF in NY, RC Gallery in San Antonio, TX; Winslow Garage in Los Angeles; OniGallery in Boston; Linda Schwartz Gallery in Cincinnati, OH; The Corcoran Museum of Art in Washington, DC; The Work Space in NYC; and Silas Kenyon Gallery in Provincetown, MA. Weinberg is the recipient of fellowships and awards from Fundacion Valparaiso in Spain, Millay Colony, MacDowell Colony, Eastern Frontier Society in Maine, a FIVA Fellowship from the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts in Miami, two Artist Access Grants from Tigertail Productions in Miami, New England Foundation for the Arts, and the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, among others. Her work was published in New American Paintings in 2002.
Weinberg has been a visiting artist at Kenyon College, and an instructor at New World School of the Arts and International Fine Arts College in Miami. Previously, she taught at Tyler School of Art, Marymount Manhattan College and the Escuela de Diseño at Altos de Chavon in the Dominican Republic.Weinberg is an educational project consultant to museums and non-profits, writing grants, developing curricula, artist residencies, and mentorship programs for teens.She has conducted numerous workshops for adults, children, teens and art educators at ArtCenter/South Florida, the Bass Museum of Art and the Wolfsonian Museum-FIU, Miami Art Museum, the City of North Miami, and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Miami.She serves on the advisory board of Abstraction Made Elementary in Boston, MA.
Weinberg contributes reviews on contemporary art to Miami New Times and Tema Celeste, an international art magazine published in Italy. She is co-editor and publisher of Circular, a journal of contemporary art, writing and culture.
Originally from New York, Weinberg now resides in Miami Beach.She received her BFA from the School of Visual Arts in NYC and her MFA from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia.
